Meet Tyler, DCF's Training Director and a Master Class IDPA shooter whose results on the clock speak for themselves. As a sponsored member of the Nighthawk Custom competitive team, Tyler trains and competes at a level most shooters only read about, and he brings that same standard to every class he runs at DCF.
As Training Director, Tyler oversees the curriculum and quality behind DCF's entire training program, ensuring every student, from first-time shooters to seasoned concealed carriers, gets instruction built on real competition-tested fundamentals.
Meet Jeff “Patch” Adams, a retired Special Forces Team Sergeant (18D/18Z) and Green Beret whose career has spanned elite military medicine and leadership, wildland firefighting as a crew boss, and community service as a former Colorado Outreach Mentor for the PTSD Foundation of America.
Patch's approach to training is rooted in a single guiding principle: purpose is prevention. He brings that same discipline, preparation, and care for others into every class he teaches at DCF.
Meet Mike Foster, a competitive shooter whose credentials back up everything he teaches. Mike serves as the Colorado State Coordinator for the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) and holds Expert Class ranking in every IDPA pistol division, a level of consistency few shooters in the state can match.
That competition background carries straight into the classroom. Mike brings a sharp eye for fundamentals, efficient movement, and match-proven technique to every course he teaches, helping students build skills that hold up under real pressure, not just on a static range.
